For those who are 'on the move'...
Walk, run, bike or rollerblade the Kate Pace Way located along Lake Nipissing's waterfront. If taking a ride is more your style then get out and enjoy some of the area's hundreds of kilometres of multi use trails!
In the winter, downhill ski or snowboard at Laurentian Ski Hill - the hill in the heart of the city!! Snowshoe, cross country ski or hike on one of the many groomed or un-groomed trail systems located throughout the area. If taking a ride is more your style then get out and watch the scenery zip by astride of a snowmobile or ATV. Strap on your ice skates and take advantage of the many outdoor rinks, including one that is located in the downtown core.
For the water baby...
Choose either Trout Lake or Lake Nipissing to fish, swim, kayak, canoe, windsurf, sail, wakeboard or water ski. And if relaxing is more your thing, then take a cruise on the Chief Commanda II or rent a house boat or pontoon to explore the lakes at your leisure.
For those who travel in packs (aka - 'the family')...
Whether you prefer full service accommodations or roughing it - we have what you're looking for. Raining or just too cold? Visit a museum, go shopping or catch a play... Sunny summer day? Ride one of the handcrafted carousels or the heritage mini train located at the waterfront, attend an event or festival or pack a lunch and head to one of our many beaches to enjoy both sun and sand. Crisp, sunny winter day? Try your hand at ice fishing with one of the many area outfitting companies! Build a fort, have a snowball fight, make a snowman, go tobogganing and of course make a beautiful snow angel in our pristine, white fluffy snow! And at the end of your fun filled day, you can admire the Christmas lights twinkling all over town or stop by one of our local coffee shops for a steaming cup of hot chocolate - don't forget the whipped cream!!
